We Will Remember Them

Forever Lost, Forever Changed.

We Care, So We Remember Them.

We must remember those who gave their lives for us, they sacrificed their tomorrow for our today. In preparation for our whole school 2 minutes silence at 11 o’clock on 11th November 2019, all of the pupils and staff have been discussing, learning and remembering World War One and World War Two. The pupils have made a wreath and laid it at Aylesby Church. Even our non-verbal pupils have been getting involved with learning the Makaton Signs for remembrance and the sign of the trumpet.

But of course, we must also show respect for the soldiers serving now, and those who have served and are never the same. We are supporting the Poppy Appeal and would like to raise awareness for SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors and Air Force Association , a national charity which supports serving and non-serving personnel and their families.

You can find out how to support SSAFA by visiting their website: https://www.ssafa.org.uk/

Mindfulness Week

The week before Remembrance Sunday, to us, is Mindfulness week. The whole school participates in activities such as Yoga, meditation and calming music. This benefits each pupil simply by scheduling unique and quiet activities than they can replicate at home to help with their own learning and personal strategies.

Anti-Bullying Week

This week the school is focusing on Anti-Bullying week, following Remembrance Day, we salute that peace, love and kindness is the key to living and working together. Each classroom has been participating in activities focused on friendship, respect and showing kindness to others.

If you are aware of bullying happening with your friends, family or at work, support is available. We all work together to ensure bullying has no place in our school!
